Success Stories
Why SEFMA?
Three years ago, one of our friends returning from his vacation in Senegal, told us a dramatic experience he had lived out.
While preparing to fly back to Washington after a stay of two months in Dakar, a lady who lived near by called him out to talk about the suffering that his child was living at the moment.
The young boy, age of fifteen , was bedridden for more than two months paralyzed and the family needed only 75,000 francs ($150) for a surgical operation. He had promised to do his best to help the boy. On his return to DC, he related the case during our conversions that we often have on weekends during our tea party.
Considering the modest sum compared with the dramatic consequences this would have on the future of this child, we told our self it was time to act and that we, never again, have to stay with folded arms when facing similar situations.
Gone are the endless debates on the bad governance in our country and the suffering experienced by our compatriots back-home. We told our self to act now and do something. We immediately footed the hospital bill and saved the boy from his illness allowing him to resume the path of school. The operation was a success and the child has regained his mobility with the help of God.
In this outburst of solidarity, SEFMA was created. Other children, women and men of modest means who are in pain, are regurlarly aided with our limited resources.
Now we can proudly state, according to our statistics that each day, one person benefits from the assistance of SEFMA!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS.
